Confidentiality & Its Limits
Your privacy is a fundamental part of the therapeutic relationship.
In accordance with the CNHC Code of Conduct, Ethics and Performance, everything you share in our sessions remains strictly confidential. However, there are a few exceptional and legally defined limits where I may have a duty to share limited information without your consent. These specific situations are:
Risk of Serious Harm: If I have a good cause to believe that you, I, or another person are at risk of serious harm.
Safeguarding Concerns: If a child or vulnerable adult is at risk of abuse or neglect.
Legal Obligations: If I am required to disclose information by law, such as a court order or statutory requirements relating to acts of terrorism or money laundering.
Professional Supervision: To ensure safe practice, I regularly discuss anonymized casework with an experienced clinical supervisor. No identifying details or personal data are ever shared.
Whenever possible, I will always discuss any necessary disclosure with you first before taking action. We will go over this together in detail during our first session.
